There’s something lovely about doing something together that isn’t quite the usual Christmas function.
A pottery workshop gives everyone a chance to put their phones down, get their hands into the clay and enjoy a few hours together. There’s plenty of talking and laughing, but also that satisfying feeling of being absorbed in something. You don’t need to be good at pottery, or even think of yourself as creative. We’ll guide you through it, and everyone leaves with something they’ve made themselves.
It’s the sort of time together that feels like a break from the usual end-of-year rush. A chance to spend time together, have some fun and make something you’ll still have to remind you of the day.
Fiona, the maker behind Mabel Vickers and Table Ceramics, will guide you through the workshop from start to finish. Everything is provided, including the clay, tools and guidance, and you can make your piece as simple or as individual as you like.
Once you’re finished, we take care of the glazing and firing. Your pieces are then ready to collect once they’ve been through the kiln, a little reminder of the people you spent the time with and the things you made together.
We can host groups of up to 18 people in the studio, and workshops can be arranged for a morning, afternoon or evening to suit your group. Workshops are suitable for businesses, social clubs and groups of friends looking for something a little different.
