Our story
Mabel Vickers is a creative space and gift destination at 271 College Street in Palmerston North.
The space was once a plant shop run by my husband’s grandmother and is now named in her honour, carrying forward a sense of warmth, creativity and home.
I’m Fiona, the maker behind Mabel Vickers and Table Ceramics. What began as a love of clay has grown into a small studio and shop centred around handmade ceramics, thoughtful objects and beginner friendly pottery workshops.
Inside the shop, you’ll find a curated collection of gifts and handmade pieces, including Table Ceramics and selected New Zealand makers. My work focuses on functional, hand built ceramics in neutral earthy tones, alongside occasional coloured pieces and slip cast designs.
Workshops are a key part of the studio, offering relaxed, beginner friendly pottery experiences using simple hand building techniques. They’re a chance to slow down, create something by hand, and enjoy time in the studio.
Whether you’re here to shop, join a workshop, or explore something creative, Mabel Vickers is about thoughtful making, useful objects and simple connection.
